To beat boredom i tried my hand at drawing. For never taking a drawing class in my life its not bad!!! I think i mastered the art of drawing creepy versions of couples!!!

Any good marriage-or relationship for that matter- pulls out the gold in you. And sometimes as you are pulling the gold out, first, out comes the gunk that had been holding it back. It’s embarrassing and gross and you have no idea what to do with it. You are lucky to have someone who doesn’t mind getting dirty and will keep pulling at that gold until it’s all they can see. I- I am so lucky. Marriage has definitely been pulling out the gold in me- but for this last week I’ve kind of been in the gunk stage. But it’s like Billy doesn’t even see the gunk. I have bumps and bruises from figuring out my new life up here and I have someone who kisses them all better. I have this picture of him trying to pull a huge boulder of gold out of a cave- a roped tied to the boulder, he has one foot up against the wall for extra strength and is pulling as hard as he can. He’s relentless- it’s like he pays no attention to all the crap (pardon my french:) ) that’s falling at his feet before him. He only sees the gold in me. This past week has been dubbed the “PMS week”, and he’s such a trooper. Being a girl, and a semi-dramatic one at that, I’ve even dared to pin some of my processed ‘issues’ on him. And all he does is smile! Do you know how ANNOYING that can be?! He knows me so well, has studied me so hard, that he knows that even when I’m upset about everything, it’s usually nothing. Sometimes after I get all worked up, we just end up laughing, because we realize how truly married we are.

I’ve learned so much about myself in the past month and taken huge steps as a woman. I am flourishing under Billy’s wisdom and sometimes that’s really scary for me. To be with someone that won’t stop pulling out potential can do that. We are learning, most of all we are loving.

So this is a little shout out to my boy, the one I said I do to, I still do, and I’m so glad you do too.<3
